Love the ink and results. Too expensive! August 31, 2010 N. Reuter (Uxbridge, MA) Standard response to ink. It works great. My output looks awesome. Canon makes great printers. Too expensive!
Expensive, but good July 26, 2010 T. Farkas It's Cannon ink, for Pete's sakes: it is very expensive but is excellent quality. Never tried aftermarket ink. Amazon's shipping is amazingly fast.

Magenta/Photo Magenta Canon and Amazon fumble the ball again January 21, 2010 Roger Schaaf (Silicon Valley Calif) 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
Exactly the same happened to me on our IP 5200 R. I went to install a Magenta in my canon, got a message that I had a problem, investigated and finally discovered the problem after comparing removed cartridge from the one that I had just installed. So I am really cursing these idiots at Canon, but I say, OK I've another that I had just purchased. I grab it from its packaging and find that it too is a PM and not a M.
I have had nothing but frustration with my Canon printer over the years and this now takes the cake. Who are the Engineers and Marketing types who design, package and market this crap. I suppose because they deal with millions of these lousy printers and their inks, they assume that everyone else has the same knowledge. Of course the consumer likely sees just a couple of Magenta replacement cartridges a year, it would never occur to these fools to CLEARLY mark the differences for us rookies with older eyes. You would think with the millions (billions?) of dollars that they earn each year selling 3 cents worth of ink for 15 bucks that they could at least design packaging to help the customer from screwing themselves.
Another time, I bought a multi-package of Canon ink for this same printer. It was only after I opened it, I found that it was the wrong type. It as a 6 and not an 8. The clerk at the store where I purchased it told me that this is what I needed for my printer and she sells the stuff.
So now I'm out the money also and here I sit tonight with the inability to print, and here I was with a backup cartridge and it too is wrong.
Thanks Canon for nothing. Another company that spends millions in advertising to catch an elusive customer, gets to the 1 yard line with goal to go, and fumbles the ball.
Don't even get me started on the cartridges for this printer that were defective right from the box.
