LaserJet Quality At Half The Price...But Not Eco Friendly September 7, 2008

For the first time in nearly four years (and 4,500 pages) I had to buy a toner cartridge for my LaserJet 6P. The last time I bought one (an HP cartridge), it ran about $55. I was shocked when I began shopping about and seeing the average was $90 for an HP replacement.
Then I remembered we used to use Verbatim cartridges at a place I worked a few years back. I didn't recall ever having any issues with them either. So I checked Amazon and couldn't pass this up. So far I've run about 250 pages and have had no problems.
So why only 4 stars? Because there was no return label in the box for sending my used cartridge to a recycler. I've come to expect this thanks to all the units we use at work. To find someone not doing it seems odd and a bit irresponsible given the level of chemicals in these things.
If you are looking for an economical replacement cartridge, Verbatim is the way to go. Just be ready to hunt down a recycling point to pick up Verbatim's slack in helping keep Mother Earth clean.
